The Casolare is located at the foot of the city of Macerata, immersed in greenery and surrounded by hills. Macerata is just 3 km away, the sea 25 km, and the Sibillini Mountains 80 km.The house is cosy and warm as it is a country house that has been renovated while maintaining its original characteristics.The thickness of the fair-faced walls allows the house to keep cool in summer and warm in winter.The exterior of the house is probably the part you will experience most. The cottage is surrounded by greenery.A half-acre garden is right in front of the house, while on the south side (not visible from the outside) is the swimming pool with a large green area and a gazebo for outdoor dining.The many native plants planted by us in the 1990s provide many shady spots to relax, read, and rest.The cottage is in fact ecological in that we have a photovoltaic system, a solar thermal system, rainwater recovery and thanks to two composting bins we carry out waste sorting.In the summer months, the house is surrounded by sunflowers that make this area an amazing yellow stain.Cycling and walking paths of various lengths depart from the house.We provide guests with a 'book' with advice on what to visit and where to eat.This is one of the most beautiful areas in Italy because it is rich in various cultural and scenic features.You are surrounded by beautiful medieval villages that are counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy.You can visit places of international importance such as the Abbey of Fiastra, the Abbey of San Claudio and the Abbey of Santa Maria a piè di Chienti.The crystal-clear sea of the Conero coast (Portonovo, Mezzavalle, Numana, Sirolo) can be reached from our house along scenic roads that are worth the trip.In less than an hour you can reach the Sibillini Mountains, which are full of very interesting routes and wonderful villages.This part of the Marches is characterised by the presence of many small theatres that are real treasures.The city of Macerata offers you a unique open-air theatre, the Sferisterio, which in summer hosts opera and important music festivals (Musicultura and concerts).We are also surrounded by high-quality, reasonably-priced trattorias and restaurants that will prepare typical dishes with excellent local products.
