From Greppon Blanc (2,700 m), wonderful deep-snow descent "L'Eteygeon" (not marked or groomed; at your own risk) over 1,300 metres in altitude into a quiet side valley; return by bus. Large "Centralpark" snow park near Thyon. Outdoor artificial ice rink in Les Collons, free admission. The region offers ~12 km of cross-country ski trails. Ski bus stop ~300m. A stroll through the historic town of Sion, the capital of Valais, and a boat trip on the underground lake of St-Léonard are well worthwhile.
