It is a medieval bridge from the 13th century, built over the river Órbigo. It seems too big for the size of the river, but before the construction of the Barrios de Luna reservoir, this river had a great flow. It has 19 arches and is quite well preserved. Restorations were carried out at different times. It has been a national monument since 1939. It is located on the ancient Roman road that ran from León (Legio Septima Gemina) to Astorga, which in Roman times was the capital of the province of Asturica Augusta.
