Our holiday home is located in Rome, in an area of great archaeological value and very well served by public transport, full of beautiful basilicas and full of shops. It is the ideal area to stay in the capital. The 'FURIO CAMILLO-Parco dell'Appia Antica' stop is only a 2-minute walk away. You will easily reach nearby San Giovanni in Laterano (3 stops, 5 minutes), Viale Manzoni (Colosseum area, 4 stops, 7 minutes) and then Esquilino, Termini Station, Via Nazionale, Via Cavour, Via Veneto, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museums. At Termini Station, Line A intersects with Line B, which will take you to the foot of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forum and Circus Maximus.You will experience Rome from a privileged position.AN AUTHENTIC NEIGHBOURHOODThe Appio-Latino district, immediately behind San Giovanni in Laterano, is a central, authentic neighbourhood, inhabited and lived in by Romans. The district is rich in public greenery: including the Parco della Caffarella (50 metres from the house) and the adjacent, beautiful and famous 'Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica', with the Catacombs of Domitilla, San Callisto, San Sebastiano and the Mausoleums of Cecilia Metella and the patrician families of ancient Rome. The Appia Antica Park can be reached on foot, or by shuttle bus number 660.It is very well served by shops, shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, public parks, buses and the metro. Via Appia Nuova, Piazza Re di Roma and Via Latina form its backbone and are particularly popular with Romans and tourists who like to stroll among the shop windows.
