The Christmas market in Goslar is one of the most beautiful in Germany and is extremely popular with visitors.Cross-country ski trails, starting in Altenau on the Rose, as well as the ski lift and the toboggan hill on the Rose and the Heilklima winter hiking trails, are very central and within easy walking distance. The cross-country ski trail network in Sonnenberg, Braunlage and St. Andreasberg is also just a short drive away. The approaches there are always very well cleared.An indoor swimming pool with sauna and all the usual food discounters are located in Clausthal Zellerfeld, approx. 8 km away.
